Across South Africa, ordinary women do extraordinary things every day, not just for themselves, but for their families and the communities around them. Ariel strongly believes in the empowerment of women and stands with women who strive for more, for the women who dream big and want to make a difference, not just in their own lives, but for others.
Mother and daughter, Lethiwe and Thembelihle were an inspiration to us. Doing everything she could in her power, Lethiwe made her daughter’s dream of becoming a nurse true. However, little did Lethiwe know that her daughter and Ariel had a surprise in store. You can see their story in the video below.
We also invited you to share more stories like this with us: stories of those people who make the impossible, possible. With over 15 000 stories shared, we were amazed by the strength of South African people and especially South African women.
Some of these stories were featured on a brand new talk show, Mose Waka, with host Masechaba Ndlovu, where we not only learned about the selfless sacrifices of quiet, ordinary heroes, but also about the incredible feats that some of our most well-known stars had to overcome to be where they are today.
Our Ariel ambassador, Rebecca Malope, is an example of this. Leaving behind her poor and unstable past, she beat the odds with barely a cent to her name by rising up to become the Queen of Gospel before going on to receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Natal. You can watch Rebecca’s impossible to possible journey in the first episode of Mose Waka.
Just like Ariel believes in removing tough stains in one wash, even with just one spoon of Ariel Handwash Detergent, we believe in the empowerment of women who are making the impossible, possible every day. The Ariel woman is one of unwavering strength and optimism. She’s an ordinary woman doing extraordinary things. She’s the one who has the determination to succeed and lives the spirit of Ubuntu each and every day.
We believe in women like Rebecca, Lethiwe and Thembelihe, and we believe in you. That’s why Ariel created the Ariel Stokvel Academy, in partnership with BSK Marketing and Business Skills South Africa. This academy supports women so that they can realise their entrepreneurial and business dreams and will offer entrepreneurial and business training to over 250 women in its first year, boosting the potential for successful South African entrepreneurs.
